A training within the framework of the nationwide awareness program on communication activities of the Whistle-Blowing System was held in Hrazdan city for the representatives of the local self-governing bodies and regional administration of the Kotayk marz.
Within its framework of the training, the experts of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association which, implements the awareness campaign, presented to the attention of the participants the idea of whistleblowing, talked about the currently operational azdararir.am unified electronic platform for whistle-blowing and the legal regulations.
Having the aim to have a full and more interactive discussion, the trainees discussed both hypothetical and actual situations that the participants faced.
Further the participants were divided into groups and carried out group and practical works.
During the training, problems and gaps related to the whistleblowing system were highlighted as well. They will be studied and used for the purpose of improving the system.
As part of the nationwide campaign, educational events will be held in all regions of Armenia, involving community servants and other representatives.
The courses are carried out in the framework of cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), with the joint efforts of the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO and the Ministry of Justice.
The objective of awareness activities is to reduce negative perceptions in relation to whistleblowers, to increase public awareness about the vital role of whistleblowers, as well as to highlight the role of the Unified Electronic Platform for Whistle- Blowing (azdararir.am) in the fight against corruption.
